    • You may require a touch-up to achieve your desired look. Some clients will yield very strong healed lip colour after the first treatment and others will heal with slight colour uptake.

    • Lip retouch must be scheduled 30-45 days apart from initial session to help with colour retention.

    • COLD SORES ARE A RISK OF LIP BLUSHING. IF YOU HAVE HAD A COLD SORE PREVIOUSLY YOU MUST ASK YOUR DOCTOR FOR 4 DAYS WORTH OF VALTREX. Start dose one-day prior to your appointment. You must get an additional prescription for your touchup.

    • If you have a history of fever blisters, cold sores or chicken pox, we advise you to go to the doctor or for an anti-viral medication prior to any lip procedure to help avoid an outbreak.

    • Clients with sun damage, scar tissue (from injury or fever blisters) and clients with implants may not have strong results.

    • Hyperpigmentation can happen on any lip client without warning.

    • Your lips cannot be dry for the appointment. If they are dry, we will need reschedule your appointment.

    • You may exfoliate 3 days before your appointment to remove any dry skin. You can make your own using a mixture of honey and brown sugar.

    • For the week leading up to your appointment you must moisturize your lips as much as possible!

    • Redness, swelling, tenderness, dryness are all common post-treatment side effects and will dissipate in a short period of time.

    • When your procedure is done, your lips will feel swollen and dry.

    • Apply ointment on lips several times a day. This should be done for at least 14 days post-treatment.

    • During the day, if lips feel dry, apply a liberal amount of ointment. Just tap on skin, but do not rub in.

    • Always use a clean Q-tip and not fingers to apply ointment. This will reduce the risk of infection.

    • Do not allow the lips to become dry. This may interfere with healed colour.

    • After your lips are no longer tender to the touch, they may become flaky. This is normal and expected.

    • Do not pick or scratch them. This may significantly reduce the amount of pigment absorption.

    • Do not use any glycolic, hydroxy or fruit acid products on lips.

    • Avoid oily, salty, acidic foods and alcohol while healing.

    • Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds pre-and post-procedure. Use SPF once lips are healed.

    • Avoid direct water pressure, pools and other bodies of water until healed.

    • Avoid any friction to lip area.

AFTERCARE

  • To ensure proper healing and colour retention, following the proper aftercare is crucial. Follow these instructions for the full 10 day healing period.

    • You’ll be given a resealable tube of cleanser and an aftercare ointment.

    • You will need to wash and moisturize your brows twice a day morning and night for 7-10 days (until the flaking has stopped).

    • Lather up the cleanser with your hands and gently wash your brows and pat completely dry with a clean towel. There should be no water left on the brow area to dry on its own.

    • Apply a rice grain amount of aftercare ointment with a cotton swab and spread it across the treated area. Be sure not to over-apply as this will suffocate your skin and delay healing. The ointment should be barely noticeable on the skin. Never put the ointment on a wet or damp tattoo.

    • Oily skin types may be told to avoid ointment all together and allow a dry heal process for the 7-10 days.

    • Do not rub, pick or scratch. Let any scabbing or dry skin to naturally exfoliate away. Picking can cause scarring or loss of colour.

    • Do not use Vaseline on your tattoo.

    • Do not use any cleansing products containing acids like glycolic, lactic, retinol, and AHAs. It will fade your tattoo prematurely.

    • Do not use laser light therapy on your brow tattoo. This can darken, lighten and distort pigment.

    • Discontinue facials, Botox, chemical treatments or microdermabrasion for 4 weeks.

    • Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning for 4 weeks after procedure and wear a hat when outdoors. SPF is important for the longevity of your micropigmentation after the following 10 days.

    • Avoid heavy sweating for 10 days. The salt in sweat can infect and prematurely fade or alter the colour of your tattoo.

    • Avoid long, hot shower for 10 days and do not run direct water on your brows. This is especially important for the first 3 days to avoid washing out any pigment.

    • Do not go swimming in lakes, pools or hot tubs. Avoid saunas and steam rooms for the first 10 days.

    • Avoid sleeping on your face for the first 7-10 days. Use a fresh pillowcase.

    • Do not put any makeup on the brows while healing.

    • Do not expect your brow tattoos to heal perfectly after the first session. This can be a 2-step process that takes time. Be patient during your 10 day healing process as your brows will change and appear different from day to day.

    • Don’t panic! Immediately after your procedure brows will appear darker and more defined. This can last up to 2 weeks. Your brow tattoo can appear more solid, hair strokes may seem to disappear and it may look wet and painted on.

    • Expect flaking around days 4-5. During this time, your brows may look dry. Do not pick your brows and let any dryness fall off naturally. If flakes gets picked off prematurely, missing hair stokes will result and cause patchy brows which can lead to scarring.

    • Your brow tattoo will take up to 4 weeks to fully heal. When the flaking comes off, the hair strokes may seem faint. This is because a fresh layer of skin has healed over the brow tattoo. Give your brows a few weeks and the hair strokes will become clearer. Colour will continue to change on a daily basis until all healing is complete at the 4-week mark.

    • You may experience itchiness in the brows after the 10 days for up to 2 months due to the healing process of the dermal layer.

    • Not everyone’s hairstoke brows can heal clean and crisp. Hairstrokes for oilier skin types tend to heal more solid and powdery while drier skin types tend to heal more crisp and defined. For those prone to heavy bleeding tend to need more touchups as the blood pushes the pigment out while we tattoo.
